Ban on Use of Official Car Gets Support from Council

Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Commission A is supporting Jakarta Provincial Government's policy that prohibits use of official car for Eid homecoming 

Jakarta civil servants who take homecoming would be better use public transportation

Jakarta DPRD Commission Chairman, Riano P Ahmad disclosed his party supports the city's policy, as it aims to anticipate conflict of interests.

No Official Car for Homecoming

"The policy about a ban in use of official car in homecoming season has been applied since a few years ago, in accordance with the central government rules," he stated, Tuesday (6/13).

"Jakarta civil servants who take homecoming would be better use public transportation," he continued.

Jakarta DPRD Commission A Secretary, Syarief added, such policy should be accompanied by tight supervision, thus the policy runs optimal.

"This year, violation must be lower than previous years, despite there will be found one or two employees recklessly use the official car for homecoming," he expressed.

It is also strengthened by a statement of Acting Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat. 

"Don't use official car for homecoming. If you ignore it, you will get sanction," he asserted.
